Jetstorm is a Dragonfly. He's got a mainly black body with pinky orange highlights - including mandibles and legs - and four clear green wings. The 6 legs move up & down - though there's something odd about the front pair, they look like they're molded wrong and actually should be pointing down. The claws in front of the face bend in. All four of the wings move up & down as well as moving back & forth. As benefits the name reuse - the original Jetstorm was an Aquaspeeder - he's got a water pistol gimmick. There's a lever on his tail - push it forward and place his head in water. When you release the lever it'll suck the water up filling it's reservoir which can then be discharged by pushing the lever forward again. There's also a green trigger at the base of his tail. Pressing it deploys a missile launcher from either side of his tail which swing forward - as long as there are no wings in the way ! - and can then be independently fired. That's quite a lot going on for one beast mode !
TF: Make sure the missile launchers are retracted, turn the toy over, fold the robot legs back, turn each out 90 degrees to the side at the joint bellow the hip, then straighten the foot out. Unclip the claws & eyes from the side of the beast head and pull out to the sides a bit - these form the robot arms and will bring the lower set of beast wings with them. Pull down on the other set of wings unlocking the robot chest from inside the beast - you want to fold this round so you can see the outside of the chest as you're looking at the bottom of the beast. Pull on the robot's legs unlocking the waist from under the tail. Both waist and chest are on struts - move the waist & the chest so the waist locks into the bottom of the chest. Then slide the centre part of the beast head into the top of the chest as the beast head. Fold the head down, bring the wings on the waist in to the middle and fold back onto the chest and slightly over the shoulders.
The resulting robot is mostly green & pinky orange with little black visible from the front apart from on the head, which looks very insect/alien like. A green lightpipe power all 3 of the eyes and the mouth is the nozzle for the water pistol gimmick. The odd front legs now serve as heel spurs, but aren't really necessary as the insect's tail runs down and back from the robot and helps support it. The water pistol gimmick still works in this mode, though the missile launchers are a little hampered by wanting to spring into the position occupied by the robot's shoulders. Articulation: foot & knees bend, swivel bellow the hip, ball jointed hip, head moves a little to the sides as well as up & down, ball jointed shoulders, bicep swivel plus another above the elbow, bending elbow and ball jointed claw. Quite impressive and very nasty looking as a robot.
Overall: Decent toy. Would have made a good character in the cartoon (possibly as a Waspinator upgrade ?)
The black parts - including the lower robot legs that were painted on Jetstorm - become red, pink becomes grey and green becomes a metallic grey. All the clear green parts become orange - including the legs which are again painted on Jetstorm. Not my favourite repaint, but the grey would have worked better on Jetstorm than the pink !
