Retrun of Convoy Roadhugger
Review
Roadhugger is a purple Ferrari F40 car with pale blue painted windows. He's a member of the Decepticon Micromaster Sports Car Patrol. He's co-moulded with Blackjack - they both share black and purple plastic. The team is completed by Detour and Hyperdrive who are also co-moulded with each other sharing yellow & pale blue plastic. If Roadhugger were a Stunticon, like the others in his team, then he'd be Dead End - the purple of Roadhugger's body is sort of similar to Dead End's burgundy.
TF: Fold the rear of the car back to form the legs. Fold the bonnet back onto the front windscreen and stand with the underside facing forward.
The robot mode reveals his secondary plastic colour, black on the head, body and upper legs. Good points: Optimus Prime style head framed by a pair of missile banks. Bad Points: The joint for the bonnet is far too high projecting up above the head. Standard Micromaster articulation of turning shoulders and bending but linked hips & knees.
When the Sports Car Patrol were released in Japan they changed sides - they're now Cybertron(Autobot) toys - and colours - well they do look rather Decepticon like. Now known as the Super Car patrol the following colour swaps apply:
Black stays the same
Purple becomes yellow
Yellow becomes white
Pale blue becomes red
Roadhugger keeps his own name but his vehicle mode is now a bright yellow.
The Super Car Patrol were released first in Japan in 1990 as Transformers Zone toy C-333. They came back the following year, now packed with Microtrailer number 12 as set numbered C-375.
