Right..... I don't like the car mode straight off the bat. It isn't Bumblebee. BB is a VW Beetle or something similar in style. He isn't a whatever this is. Long, low and looks like it might be driven in a 70s US film. As with Wreckage his weapons can be stored in vehicle mode - slot them together, fold down the frame under the doors, place the weapons in the robot hands across the middle of the car and fold back up.
TF: press the button in the bonnet to fold down the front of the car using the Automorph, and fold down the rest of the way. Unhitch the guns from each other, fold out so they're under the car and then fold the arms out to the sides. Fold the head up and rotate to face forward. Open the car doors and fold them and the windscreen up. Pull the arms down at the shoulder ball joint making sure that the wheels now mounted on his shoulders are as high up as possible (I missed this till now and it's resulted in me making some disparaging comments) Bend the lower half of the rear of the car down under the wheels. Separate the legs and move the panels for the rear window out and down a bit automorphing the knee and ankles. Pose the feet.
Insert weapons either into the hands or the now locked off wheels on shoulders. If you've not locked them off you'll soon know about it as the missile launchers will flop around in a very silly way. And it's very easy not to lock them.
The robot mode is...... well a bit silly. I realise some of this is an imposition due to the movie design. However what we've ended up with has 2 resemblances to the original Bumblebee: he's yellow and black and that's it. No car part is in the same place, the build if different the face is just so wrong it's untrue. The body is far too spindly, skeletal even with the occasional car part covering it. The Automorph has extended bits from the chest for no reason at all. Do you know what this looks like ? It's a Zombie TF that's had most of itself ripped off like in Legion of the Lost
No I'm sorry this just isn't Bumblebee. It isn't even a decent TF toy. Avoid at all costs. At least the next BB looks a bit less like a walking robot skeleton !
Bumblebee was a Wave 1 Movie Deluxe toy. A very similar version of this toy was available as Movie Evolution of A Hero 1976 Camaro Bumblebee with Evolution of a Hero Camaro Concept Bumblebee. Bumblebee was also available in Japan as Movie toy numbered MA-03. This version has clear windows - see Remy Act 451: Bumblebee for pictures.
