Jazz is a sportscar - if you think a silver grey version of his G1 form you won't be far off. There's something about the car that reminds me of Nightbeat though, can't put my finger on it. Windows are in clear blue plastic beyond which we have a molded interior. His robot mode weapon comes separately - a first for I don't know how many years where the weapon has integrated into the alt mode design - which may be to do with the mold for this toy being used twice with different weapons. Anyhow the weapon can clip onto Jazz's rear spoiler.
TF: Pull up on the back of the card and fold over the roof of the driver's compartment. Pull back on the underside of the rear of the car and then swing each half round 90 degrees so the underside becomes the sides turning then into the lower legs. The feet fold down and the heel spurs flip out. Pull the wheels out to the sides and up about 1cm in each direction - this will bring the bonnet away in 2 halves. Lay so the car bonnet is upside down and then fold the car bonnet up onto the exposed waist. Fold legs down. Find the pieces at the back of the front wheel halves that would have meshed with the door and fold these down under the front wheels. Rotate the wheel sections forward. Fold the sides of the bonnet into their place, flip the claw out from the middle of the bonnet and fold the bonnet over itself to form the arm. Fold the passenger compartment roof onto the back which *should* auto tf the head as it locks in place.
Robot is a game of 2 halves with lovely big chunky legs. Unfortunately it has a body that's about half as high as it should be to be well proportioned, flimsy tiny odd arms with hands that don't hold anything and need the forearms unfolded so you can peg the weapon in again. Then the head - if it pops up enough - has a nice sculpt reminiscent of G1 Jazz and the best light blue visor lightpipe I have ever seen. Articulation: shoulders too floppy to bear the weight of the weapon - which extends it's barrel - neck joint, universal hips, knees that bend but are limited by the surrounding plastic and poseable ankles.
Bits of Jazz look good. But the robot is a bit of a disaster really. Avoid.
Jazz was a wave 1 Movie Deluxe toy that was also available in Japan numbered MA-04. He was also available in two 3-packs with Brawl: the third figure in the first set is Protoform Optimus Prime, in the second set it's Bonecrusher. All Spark Jazz adds blue highlights to the toy while Premium Jazz spruces up the colour scheme.
