One of the great things about this hobby is finally getting your hands on a toy you've wanted for ages - and today was one of those days for me :-)

J Decker http://www42.tok2.com/home/katchy/brave/jdeka.htm

This toy I've been wanting for *AGES* - when I first saw it it reminded me of Star Convoy in the same way as Firebird reminds me of Star Sabre. This isn't Star Convoy, but it's still a great toy..... The car has a nice simplistic transformation, not much more to say about it really....As you can see from the pictures the truck is a very futuristic styling, the cab and trailer are one unit - not separate like the Primes. You can't tell too well from the pics but it is armed - there's 2 missile launching cannons in the back of each leg. Transformation - the pictures make it look like the entire roof of the truck folds round with the arms, but these in fact rotate separately. 2 side panels are folded down from the front of the truck to bulk up the legs which separate out slightly. The car then slots into the chest and folds as shown. And the big robot is just great - about a foot high, solid, stable and you get a big gun with it :-)

What you can't see from the picture - and what linked all of the new mold Brave Police toys - is that they've got a light and sound feature using the siren - there's one on the car - the sirens on the roof which are on the head of the big guy, activated by pressing the windscreen - and one on the truck - the sirens on the cab activated by a black button half way down the truck which I'm compelled to point out forms the mid section of the truck !. Both can be set off at the same time :-)

Happy - I love this toy.

As a thought - how about the smaller car as Hotrod merging with the trailer painted a little differently to form a rather different Rodimus Prime ?

Duke Fire: http://www42.tok2.com/home/katchy/brave/dekuf.htm

Duke Fire comes from the disassemble school of transforming robot toys which isn't to popular with some people. Pull the back of the fire engine off to form the robots legs - the back folds in the middle of it lengthways instead of splitting in 2 as you may expect. Clip that onto the base of the fire engine cab and attach the halves of the ambulance to form the arms. He's got a siren as well - activated by pressing the engine grill. He's got some nice weapons too - a grab claw, a drill and a sword, which is housed in the ladder, which in the robot mode become a sort of back mounted sheath....

For those who've got the TF:Generations book - isn't there a resemblance between this and the Rodimus Prime fire engine drawing ?

Gunmax: http://www42.tok2.com/home/katchy/brave/gunmax.htm

I wasn't originally going to get this - I had my eye on these through www.digitaltoys.com until James Wilson pointed out to me a seller on Ebay who had them cheap - but this is quite a fun toy too.... No Rodimus Prime allusions here though, but we have got another siren gimmick and another big gun - this time serving as a missile launcher which has quite a nice touch to it - the missiles from Gunmax and J-Decker are interchangeable. The front of the motorcycle pops off allowing you to clip the man into place - once his legs have been folded out to form the big robots arms - and then the windshield clips on to form chest armour. The gun can be either hand held or mounted on the chest. And it's on the chest panel / front of bike it remains when you convert the toy to the gun mode - where it can be mounted on the side of J-Decker.

I think this is called Fire J-Decker.... Start with your J-Decker robot and start disassembling your Duke Fire. The Legs undo in the middle of the pelvis - quite a neat join this - to become feet for the big robot. The front of the fire engine fold down revealing more gold armour and forms a chest plate for our big fella there (sorry, been watching the new Father Ted disc today) The ladder attaches to the left side of the big robot forming it's sword sheath - though it's mounted a tad high for that I can see the effect they're getting at. The ambulance becomes armour and weapons for the wrists, and Duke Fire's chest armour becomes a crest for the new robot's head. In case you're worried it's not well armed enough then bolt Gun max onto the side.... All the electronic sirens are still accusable in this very nice combined mode which is far more stable than God Fire Convoy ever was - there's something to be said for limited articulation in the legs of very big toys.

I'm so impressed with J-Decker - it's no disappointment now I've got it - and the other 2 add onto an already great toy. If you like Takara's late G1 toys and you get an opotunity then buy these as I'm sure you'll appreciate them.
